Girls on the Run: Volunteers Needed to Continue Program in 2020
Do you love to inspire young girls to reach their full potential? Then we need you!
Girls on the Run (gotrpa.org) is a 10-week afterschool program held two days a week at Merion Elementary in the spring (February through May) that helps girls in 3rd through 5th grades build self-confidence and life skills through running activities and a research-based curriculum. The season culminates in a community 5K fun run. This program has been running for five years at Merion, and we'd love to see it continue!
If you are interested in leading this program (you don't need to be a runner!), please contact Ashlee Goodman at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details on the role.
Flowers and Water Ice for your Budding Musicians
All are welcome at the 4th Grade Band/Orchestra Concert next Thursday, May 23 at 7 pm.
The 5th Grade Committee for the Class of 2020 will be having their first fundraiser to support the incoming 5th graders for next year. We'll be selling flowers before and water ice after the concert (on the black top/basketball courts).
Please support your incoming 5th grader and sign up to help out at an event for next year.
Check out Merion Muse Online!
The advisors of Merion Muse wish to congratulate our staff of 60 4th and 5th graders for another successful year, which resulted in two publications including Merion's first ever student magazine. We also recently published additional comics online that we couldn't fit into the printed publications, so we encourage everyone to check it out and take another look at our past issues.

When - Saturday, June 1, 10 am-3pm
Where - Penn Wynne Elementary School, 250 Haverford Road
Come to the stand that started it all! Join Alex's family, friends and community as we honor the tradition of her annual lemonade stand. Alex's "Original" Lemonade Stand is an uplifting, fun-filled, family-friendly day complete with food, games, crafts, face-painting, music, raffles and (of course) lemonade at the school Alex attended. Everyone also gathers for a beautiful butterfly release to commemorate and celebrate the lives of all children affected by cancer.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is a national fundraising movement that began from the front yard lemonade stand of Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004) who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to fund cures. The Foundation has now raised more than $150 million, funding nearly 1,000 research projects.
Alex's All Access Passes are available for $25 which includes a limited edition Alex's "Original" t-shirt and covers donations for all activities, food and lemonade.
Are you a family of four or more? Family Packages are a great deal and start at just $100 which includes t-shirts, raffle tickets, merchandise and more. Visit AlexsLemonade.org/AlexsOriginal for details on additional ways to get involved or email Danni D'Angio at D.Dangio@AlexsLemonade.org.
