SAVE THE DATE: 4rd Annual International Night @Merion Oct 23, 2014
Merion, PA-On Thursday. October 23 2014, the halls of Merion Elementary will be transformed into the continents of the world and filled with the sights, sounds, costumes and cultures of more than 30 countries, at the Fourth Annual International Night at Merion.
In 2012, more than 500 events participants walked through the halls of the school, you could see students wearing traditional costumes; hear music and folk songs; you could see traditional art work, textiles and pottery; you could participate in interactive demonstrations and complete a craft or coloring page. You could even sample the cuisine at many of the International Night tables
Countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, China, Japan, Korea, Germany, Ireland, Canada, Columbia, Brazil, Australia, Eritrea and Nigeria will be represented just to name a few,
International Night at Merion was the brainchild of Merion’s Cultural Proficiency Cadre in conjunction with the human Relation Committee, both staff and parent-run committees of the Merion Elementary School, The idea was to celebrate the diversity found within Merion’s student body and to highlight the wonderful cultures and traditions that make us all different.
International Night at Merion was sponsored by Merion’ s Home and School Association, and was coordinated by a parent-run volunteer committee. If you want to help at a table or host a table, please complete the registration form.
