Homeroom Parents
Homeroom Parent Coordinator (1 person)The Homeroom Parent Coordinator solicits volunteers from K-4 classrooms to serve as primary liaisons for teachers and the HSA throughout the year. The coordinator also provides the homeroom parents with duty responsibilities from both the HSA and the teachers.
The Homeroom Parent Coordinator is responsible for organizing a meeting at the beginning of the year between homeroom parents to set expectations for the year, and share email templates for monthly emails.
Timing: Solicitation and coordination of HP volunteers occurs in September/October of each school year. Ongoing commitment to communication with HP throughout the year with correspondence to be sent out to parents in their homeroom.
Homeroom Parents- Grades K-3
Homeroom/Classroom Parents timely communicate the classroom needs from the teacher to the parents. This includes sending information out to parents at the teacher’s request, coordinating assistance for any needs the teacher may reach out for assistance with.
Grade level specific duties for homeroom/classroom parents:
Kindergarten:
Breakfast Buddies- Arrange for an early school year in person breakfast event, to take place at the school before school starts for the day. This is a meet and greet for parents and students.
Class Baskets: coordinate the donation of items to raffle baskets (spring fair, parent social).
First Grade:
Breakfast Buddies- Arrange for an early school year in person breakfast event, to take place at the school before school starts for the day. This is a meet and greet for parents and students.
Beginning of school year lunch volunteers- Parent volunteers come to the school to assist 1st grade Merion students at lunch in the first couple of months of school. The coordinator makes a volunteer sign-up form and establishes a schedule of lunch volunteers.
Class Baskets: coordinate the donation of items to raffle baskets (spring fair, parent social).
Second Grade:
