Believe it or not, it is time to start thinking about our soon-to-be 5th graders and their upcoming school year. The 5th graders and their teachers are busy right from the first day of school, and they need our help. There are small jobs like helping to sell pretzels, to larger jobs like putting together the yearbook... and everything in between. We need photographers, a treasurer, and people simply willing to lend a hand. Please come to one of the 2015 - 2016 Fifth Grade Kick - Off Meetings to see how you can help make it a great year.
We're upping the ante to get your feedback. Take this survey by tomorrow about the FYI and the Merion HSA web site. For responding, you'll be entered to win a
prize bag with Merion merchandise and two tickets to an all-ages benefit for Minding Your Mind featuring musician Ryan Star and a raffle for great prizes (like a chance to see Billy Joel on August 13 at Citizens Bank Park).
On May 5, Merion Elementary will show our support for those affected by the disaster in Nepal. Students, teachers and staff are encouraged to wear red, white and blue, the national colors of Nepal. Donations will be collected that day for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Check the flyer
In recent years, we hear more about stress, anxiety, depression and bullying in children. If these issue ever cross your mind, join us as your HSA hosts Minding Your Mind for a presentation designed specifically for parents of elementary-aged children. Even if you attended the ISC meeting on April 20 with Minding Your Mind, please come and learn how to help our kids manage these issues now and down the road. Learn more here.
Parents, teachers, and staff are welcome. Discussion may not be appropriate for children. Child care and snacks will be provided in the gym for school-aged Merion students of parents attending the meeting, courtesy of buildOn volunteers from LMHS. Please arrive at 6:45 pm to sign in your children. |
