The bookmark in today's envelope will help you track your minutes. If you reach this goal, each class will get to choose one book from the Book Fair for their classroom library!

ISC General Meeting - The next ISC General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct 9th at 9:30 a.m. in the Academy Building (white building adjacent to BCMS). The topic will be Health, Wellness and Nutrition. Our speakers will be Terry Quinlan, Supervisor School Health Services; Karen Castaneda, Director Nutritional Services; and Randi Mongiello, Asst. Director Nutritional Services, and Stephanie Brett, Mental Health and Wellness Counselor. Topics will include:
* The implementation of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act and how it will impact the school lunch beginning i Sept 2012.
* What parents need to know about providing foods for classroom celebrations, birthdays etc and for fundraising during school hours (LMSD Nutrition Guidelines).
* The new district medication policy and procedures.
* School-life balance.
Locally Grown Buying Club - Join the other Merion Elementary School families who already order locally grown/pasture-raised eggs, poultry, beef, pork and dairy from The Forks Farm Food Buying Club. On a monthly basis food is ordered and delivered by the farmers to our home, located across from Merion Elementary School. No membership fees or minimum order = no hassle and no waste.
