CSE (Committee for Special Education) & Gifted Support Representatives
CSE (Committee for Special Education) + Gifted Support Reps (2 people)
The Committee for Special Education is a parent volunteer group within LMSD that represents families of both special education and gifted children.
The CSE meets several times throughout the school year, often bringing in guest speakers of interest to a wide audience. The CSE reps should be parents/guardians of children with IEPs, GIEPs, or 504s.
The Merion CSE representatives attend meetings of the CSE and bring back any information of interest to the Merion parents by providing meeting notes to the HSA webmaster to post on the HSA website.
Additionally, the CSE rep acts as a liaison for parents who are navigating special education for their own children. The CSE rep’s contact information will be given out to parents at the beginning of the school year via the homeroom parents, noting if they have questions or concerns or need help navigating their child’s IEP, GIEP, or 504, our rep can connect them with the CSE to assist.
