Community Service
The community service program’s mission is to extend the Merion School’s reach into the community, teach good stewardship to children, and provide another opportunity for community among Merion families through service projects. We plan drives, projects and collaborations within our local and wider community. Whether it's an emergency collection for the Red Cross relief fund, a Winter Essentials clothes drive for Philadelphia's families in need, or a multi - community book project - our hope is that at least one will overlap with your own interests. We hope to represent what our Merion families feel passionate about and what you'd like to see our children become interested in. We also want to offer events you can get involved with if you are able. Thank you for your wonderful and continued support!
Timing: The Chairpersons for this HSA committee organize several events and charitable drives through the year.

Community Service loves our annual project with School Families. This year we supported an organization Ms Brown found called Peace For Puppies. It was started by local student Lizzie Penna* in 2008 when she was 8 year old after learning about puppy mills. The organization helps support rescues and animal shelters. School Families came together to make dog toys for the shelters. Below, you can see what 280 dog toys look like and how much they mean to their new owners. Kids make a difference!
