Cultural Heritage Night Alert
If you want to host or contribute to a culture table for CHN, tomorrow is the last day to register to ensure your culture is represented on our event passport.
Cultural Heritage Night 2018 is set for Thursday, Oct 25, 6-8:15pm. This event is free, but please bring a canned food donation for the Narberth Community Food Bank.
Is your costume box getting full? Please consider donating gently used Halloween costumes for those in need. Merion Elementary Community Service will be working with Halloween Helpers for a Halloween costume collection. Please drop off clean, complete costumes in a bag labeled with size and type of costume in the main office by Monday, Oct 22.
And so the Adventure Begins...
The Enchanted Forest book fair is coming to Merion Elementary Nov 5-9. To prepare, we are having our All For Books fundraiser Oct 22-26. Please have your children bring in loose change to their classroom. The classroom who raises the most will win an after school activity with Mr. Davis at a date to be determined. The money raised benefits Merion Elementary school and students in need. Plus, Scholastic matches the donations by donating to The Scholastic Possible Fund which distributes books to children through different organizations.
Please also sign up to help at the book fair either in a short slot with your child's class or in a longer slot as a cashier.
Notes from the Nurse's Office
Merion School health screening (vision K-5; Hearing K-3; height/weight K-5) will be done on Thursday and Friday, Oct 11 and 12. If there are any concerns, parents/guardians will be notified quickly. All full reports will follow after several weeks. Please make sure your students have their prescribed glasses.
Please send in healthcare provider notes for any illnesses or injuries so that we can put into place physical activity/recess restrictions, special assistance. It is also necessary to send in clearances once students are allowed to resume regular activity. Healthcare practitioners are accustomed to providing these so do not hesitate to ask for the visit reports.
